HitchedSA is an independently operated South African wedding planning service. For the purposes of POPIA, HitchedSA is the responsible party for the personal information described below and can be contacted about any privacy matter at 21rssolutions@gmail.com.

  • Account information: Your email address and a password. The password is encrypted and stored only as a one-way hash by Supabase Auth. We never see or store your password in plain text.
  • Profile information: Partner names, wedding date, and venue location (entered voluntarily)
  • Planning data: Guest list, budget entries, checklist tasks, seating plans, and ideas board content
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns (collected via analytics)
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the HitchedSA wedding planning service
  • To sync your planning data across devices via our secure cloud database
  • To send transactional emails related to your account (password resets, etc.)
  • To improve our platform based on usage patterns
  • To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense
  • To comply with legal obligations under South African law

3. Google AdSense & Cookies

HitchedSA uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

We also use cookies for authentication and session management. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to:

  • Google Maps Places API: venue and supplier search
  • OpenWeatherMap: weather forecasts
  • Netlify: hosting and deployment
